The BMB Department honors and recognizes 8 employees for their 25 years of service

On October 4, 2017 the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department honored and recognized 8 individuals for their 25 years of valued service to the Department as well as to the University at large.  The BMB Department would like to extend a congratulations and special thank you to the following individuals for all that they have done and continue to do to make Penn State an elite institution of higher learning:

 

Traci Shimmel

 

Traci Shimmel started at Penn State in 1990.  Traci serves as the administrative assistant to the Department Head.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. David Gilmour

 

David Gilmour started at Penn State in 1989.  He serves as the Co-Director of the Graduate Studies Program as well as a Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.  Dave's research interests are:  Transcriptional regulation of the hsp70 heat shock gene in Drosophila.

 

 

 

 

Joyce Greslick

 

Joyce Greslick started at Penn State in 1992.  Joyce is a  member of the BMB finance office and processes travel and group meal transactions, sets up access to eBuy for placing orders and processes all purchase orders, as well as work study appointments.

 

 

 

 

Tamara Housel

 

Tamara Housel started at Penn State in 1991.  Tammy coordinates the departmental seminars, lectures, and faculty presentations.  She also coordinates the schedules for prospective faculty candidates.

 

 

 

 

 

Linda Kunes

 

Linda Kunes started at Penn State in 1992.  Linda is the graduate staff coordinator.  Linda processes all graduate student contracts and appointments as well as plans all graduate events.

 

 

 

 

 

Linda Price

 

Linda Price started at Penn State in 1992.  Linda is the Senior Prep Room Technician.  She is responsible for setting up the lab, preparing all media and reagents as well as assisting with clean up.  Linda ensures that the lab runs smoothly for the faculty and that the students have everything available that they need.

 

 

 

 

Dr. Frank Pugh

 

Frank Pugh started at Penn State in 1992.  Frank is an Evan Pugh University Professor and the Willaman Chair in Molecular Biology.  Frank's research interests are:  Biochemistry and genomics and eukaryotic transcription regulation.

 

 

 

 

Cathy Reimer

 

Cathy Reimer started at Penn State in 1990.  Cathy provides IT support to Wartik employees who work in the research labs for Anton Nekrutenko, Ross Hardison, Katerina Makova, and Marylyn Ritchie.
