BMB Welcomes Timothy C. Meredith
The BMB Department extends a warm welcome to Dr. Timothy Meredith. Dr. Meredith joined the Department in August 2014, as part of the Microbiology search. Dr. Meredith comes to us from Harvard Medical School where he was an Instructor in Microbiology and Immunobiology.
Dr. Meredith earned his Ph.D. at the University of Michigan where he studied lipopolysaccharide biosynthesis in gram-negative enteric bacteria under the direction of Professor Ron Woodward. His postdoctoral studies were with Professor Suzanne Walker in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at Harvard Medical School with a focus on wall teichoic acid biosynthesis in the Gram positive pathogen Staphylococcus aureus. He graduated summa cum laude from Villanova University with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry, with a primary focus on biochemistry. Dr. Meredith also served as a Bacteriology Lab Head for Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research and as a Senior Research Biologist in the Infectious Disease Division of Merck Research Laboratories.
