Sanjana Marikunte and Mila Tamminga - DAAD-RISE scholars
Sanjana Marikunte (Santy lab) and Mila Tamminga (Rolls lab), both BMB majors, have been selected as DAAD-RISE Germany scholars.
RISE offers unique opportunities for bachelor degree students to work with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany for a period of two to three months during the summer. RISE interns are matched with doctoral students whom they assist and who serve as their mentors.
Sanjana went to Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster (University of Muenster) to do research on the structure and functions of small arteries in the lab of Professor Lydia Sorokin.
Mila went to University of Rostock's Clinic for Radiotherapy and Radiation Oncology to do research on the effect of ionizing radiation on mitochondria in breast cancer in the lab of Dr. rer. nat. Katrin Manda.
Congratulations Sanjana & Mila!
