I'm  from Richmond, Virginia. I graduated from the College of William and Mary with a B.S. in Chemistry and a minor in Biochemistry. I've  long been enthralled by forensic science, a passion that bloomed from a mild obsession with the TV show Forensic Files. I choose Penn State in part because of the hands-on nature of the course work.Additionally, it was the only program I applied to that had an interview component and to me that meant that the people here really wanted to get to know me. When I'm  not doing school work, I enjoy hiking, writing, and cooking. I can also talk your ear off about anything horse related.

I will be working with Dr. Dorman's research group. My research involves fentanyl type opioids,
with a particular focus on the validation of a test strip for the detection of fentanyl in powders.
