Graduate Student Awards
- Daniel Cordek of Dr. Craig Cameron's lab and Saikat Chowdhury of Dr. Tracy Nixon's lab are recipients of the Simpson Innovative (Risky) Science Award. Jason Miller (Reese Lab) and Megha Wal (Pugh Lab) receive honorable mention (1/12).
- Zhenfeng Liu of Dr. Don Bryant's lab is one of two recipients of the Alumni Association Dissertation Award in the category of Life and Health Sciences. The Alumni Association Dissertation Award provides funding and recognition to outstanding full-time doctoral students who have passed their comprehensive exams and have received approval of the dissertation topic. This award is considered to be among the most prestigious awards to Penn State graduate students and recognizes outstanding achievement in scholarship and professional accomplishment (1/12).
- Tracy Vrablik of Dr. Wendy Hanna-Rose's lab was awarded the 2010/2011 Richard l. and Norma L. McCarl Graduate Scholarship Endowment in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology ( 9/10).
- Allison Saunders of Dr. Squire Booker's lab has been awarded the 2010/2011 Richard L. and Norma L. McCarl Graduate Scholarship Endowment in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (9/10).
- Ashley Hill of Dr. Kao's lab was awarded the Althouse Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award (9/10)
- Stephanie Lange of Dr. Hanna-Rose's lab has been chosen honorable mention for the Althouse Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award (9/10)
- Marta Reviriego-Mendoza placed third in the Health and Life Sciences Division at the 2010 Graduate Research Exhibition. Marta's presentation was titled, "JC virus interacts with SCFbeta-TrCp, a degradation machine of the cell." (3/10)
- Dan Cordek wins Graduate School Outstanding TA Award (2/10)
