Main Content

The BMMB graduate program brings together students from all over the United States and the world. Our students form a tight-knit group that work together both in research and life. A few examples of yearly events include shopping trips to nearby towns, camping trips, mountain biking, the rockstar party, woman's christmas movie night, the Big Lebowski film festival, Spikes baseball games and breast cancer home-run derby, PSU football games and tailgates, just to name a few. In addition the BMB department hosts a a holiday party every December.
The State College area offers a beautiful and affordable place to live. Housing is available on campus in several graduate student dormitories. Some of our students opt to live off-campus as well, and many options are available for this from renting a house to an apartment in a complex with amenities such as a health club, shuttle service to campus, and a swimming pool.
The Graduate Student Association also maintains a web site with useful information about nearly every aspect of graduate student life including an excellent guide on moving to State College.
