BMB Department Advising System

Advising Session

The advising system in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is designed to promote consistency and greater accessibility.  Students who intend or have entered the BMB, BIOTC, or MICRB majors will be assigned to an academic adviser.   Undergraduates are assigned to their adviser for the duration of their academic program.   The academic adviser provides assistance with the scheduling of courses, explanations of University and Department policies and procedures, and promotion of undergraduate experiences available to you as a Penn State student.  We feel it is important for students to meet with their adviser regarding both academic and professional goals.

The Science Advising center is a valuable resource for students interested in health professions, seeking information about education abroad opportunities, and finding out about science internship and coops.  WE ARE your academic advisers and we look forward to meeting you and being a part of your success here at Penn State!

Who are the academic advisers for BMB, MICRB, and BIOTC students?

Ms. Jennifer Keefer will serve as the primary academic adviser for a large number of the BMB, MICRB, and BIOTC students, and she will also meet with students interested in learning more about our majors. To learn more about Jenn.

Dr. James Endres Howell will be using his experience and expertise to be the primary adviser for our change of campus and transfer students.

Ms. Becky Falsone serves as the adviser for our Clinical Lab Science Program.

A number of our instructional faculty members also serve as academic advisers.
